PartyPoker MILLIONS Grand Final Barcelona
The PartyPoker LIVE Season One tour comes to a conclusion when the series stops in Barcelona for their Grand Final event. Starting on April 7 the nine-event series features a €10,000,000 guaranteed Main Event as well as €23,000,000 (~ 28,500,000) in overall guarantees. With players from all over the world flocking to Casino Barcelona to vie for a piece of the prize pool the on-the-felt action is sure to be as hot as the beaches of Barcelona themselves.
In addition to the massive Main Event, partypoker is providing a stage for some of poker’s elite players by running a trio of Super High Roller events. Over the course of the eight days, there will be a €25k, a €50k and a €100k tournament taking place and every single one of them has a €2 million guarantee attached.
The sheer amount of money in play makes it very likely that some of the biggest names in the High Roller community will be firing early and often to try and build a stack in all three of these major events.
Return of the King
Despite all of the retirement jokes, when it comes to High Roller tournaments, Germany’s Fedor Holz is still considered the king. He’s ranked #5 on the All-Time Money list and cashed in 15 tournaments for over $6.3 million in 2017 alone. But after firing a reported seven times in the Super High Roller Bowl China, Holz is still looking for that first major win in 2018. Will Barcelona be where the Primed Mind founder records his first cash of the year? Should he show up, he’s certainly favored to.
Bonomo Continues To Crush
While Holz has yet to make his mark on 2018, Justin ‘ZeeJustin’ Bonomo has already made 2018 his best year ever. Bonomo just recently earned his second seven-figure score of the year with his victory at the Super High Roller Bowl China in Macau. That victory earned him a career-high score of over $4.8 million and has elevated him into the top three of the Global Poker Index Rankings. If Bonomo takes the trip to Barcelona, PokerShares customers will find he has a moderate price despite being on a early year heater.
Good Feelings About Kenney
While Holz and Bonomo have been working on their GTO strategy in the High Rollers, if one wanted to go in the opposite direction you’d look no further than high-stakes crusher Bryn Kenney. Despite having claimed to not ever looked at a solver, Kenney uses his years of experience as a “feel” player to continue to be one of the most feared players on the circuit. The American Poker Awards Player of the Year is just coming off a million dollar score himself and with three high rollers on the schedule, it’s unlikely that the New York native will miss out on a trip to Barcelona.
Home court Advantage For Simao?
Looking for a potential sleeper in the Super High Rollers - it may be Joao ‘joaosimaobh’ Simao. Brazil’s Simao is not just a partypoker ambassador but he’s a staple of the top 25 ranked online players in the world. So while he’s not from Spain, he may have a bit of a home court advantage as it seems whenever he’s at a partypoker event, Simao thrives. In February during the MILLIONS Germany he final tabled a pair of 25,000 High Rollers finishing in second and fourth respectively for roughly $450,000. Simao has over $6.8 million in online earnings and is closing in on $2 million in live earnings.
For those who are looking to buy a piece of their favorite players, partypoker LIVE Barcelona is likely to have plenty of action to choose from.
