King Of The Hill 3
On October 24, the Poker Night In America crew will be setting up shop at the Sugar House Casino in Philadelphia, PA and they are bringing with them yet another live-streamed high-stakes heads-up tournament for the fans – King Of The Hill III.
In case you haven't heard of the popular King of The Hill events, here's a breakdown: four popular poker players put up $50,000 and play in a tournament style heads-up contest. The winner of each semi-final winner face each other in the finals and battle it out for the bragworthy title of 'King of The Hill', the right to slap the KOTH championship strap around their waist and the winner-take-all grand prize of $200,000.
While the previous two events have been entertaining and not without their fair share of drama, it could be argued that upcoming Sugar House Casino event features the stiffest competition yet.
At the top of the card is the reigning, defending King Of The Hill Champion, Olivier Busquet. Well known for his prowess in online heads-up play, PokerShares had Busquet as a massive favorite headed into the previous finals where he took on 888poker ambassador Parker 'tonkaaaa' Talbot. Busquet did not disappoint those that bought shares of him, taking the title and earning himself not just the $200K but also a seat in the upcoming event. With nearly $8 million in recorded lifetime earnings, the high-rolling tournament beast is considered an elite opponent in any No Limit Hold'em event. While his current status as champion would have you assume that he's the favorite headed into Philadelphia...

...that honor belongs to none other than Busquet's one-time protege, Daniel Colman.
Daniel 'mrGR33N13' Colman, currently a slight favorite over his former mentor, is a champion in his own right. Colman is perhaps best known for defiantly standing over a mountain of money after defeating Daniel Negreanu heads-up to claim the title of 2014 World Series of Poker One Drop Champion. His resume though consists of so much more. Colman has accumulated four additional seven-figure paydays in his career en route to his current standing as #3 on Hendon Mob's All-Time Money list. Since his One Drop victory, Colman has not only continued to excel on the felt, but he's opened up personally to the poker world making him one of the more exciting players to be able to watch.
Thoughts of the prodigious Colman battling it out with Busquet may have fans foaming at the mouth but the competitive talent doesn't end with them. This includes the 2017 World Series of Poker Main Event Champion himself, Scott Blumstein. A true grinder, Blumstein achieved what every single poker player dreams of – he defied the odds, outlasted every single one of the 7,221 runners in the Main Event, lifted the bracelet and collected the over $8,000,000 first place prize. Now, New Jersey's Blumstein is putting $50K of that Main Event money to work in order to take a shot at adding another coveted trophy to his collection. While Blumstein may be considered the longshot in King Of The Hill III, he already proven that not only is he not bothered by long odds – he thrives in them.

Rounding out the competitors is veteran high-stakes Harvard personality Brandon Adams. After laying low in the tournament poker scene for the past couple years, the resurgent Adams is coming in to King of the Hill III fresh off a victory in the televised Poker Masters series. After defeating heads-up heavyweight Doug Polk (who coincidentally will be providing commentary for King of the Hill) for the $819,000 win, the calculating Adams looks to turn his underdog status into pure value for those that bet on him.
I thought that was strange as well but pokershares isn't stupid... controversy=action https://t.co/UbmNpU0SNm— Brandon Adams (@badams78) October 8, 2017
